I recently encoded some mpeg2 down to divx5. The encode itself went fine, but it's not chopping it up right.
I chopped it up into 6 clips. All the clip's cuts started on a keyframe and came out fine start->end. However, I cut the opening/ending off and was gonna separate them so I dont have them at begin/end of each episode. Well, the video fades out of the preview and into the intro so that there's no clean-cut stop point with a keyframe. So when I go to set the start point, it jumps back to the previous keyframe when saving the cut. Always. Is this just the way it is, bug, workaround? Kinda of annoying hearing the ending clip of the preview before the intro kicks in.
I've tried selecting the video I wanted and as well deleting the frames I didnt want saved.
Appreciate the responses. |

You can only cut on keyframes unless you recompress. When you convert the MPEG-2 file to DivX, try editing at that point because you are recompressing it you can make more precise cuts.
