I see no immediate reason why there is a difference. Normally the result should be the same in the two cases. Does it make a difference when re-encoding the audio, instead of a direct copy ?
Mostly, the best method when working with several pieces of video - with the goal to later join them together - is to NOT compress the audio in these different parts. Just compress the audio at the very end, while you do the append. This is because the audio (and also the video) is compressed and stored into little boxes, called "chunks". The length of these audio-chunks is not equal to those of the video-chunks, and so when you cut video, chances are high that an audio chunk gets cut and becomes damaged. |

Hi, what do you mean by ''reencoding audio'' ?
All my cutted files must be interleaved to 50ms, if not, I have an audio/video shift during the play.
Can I do it directley after cutting it or must I encode it first ?
exemple for direct interleaving:
video>direct stream copy audio>interleaving SAVE (1pass)
in place of encoding first
video>direct stream copy audio>full processing mode SAVE (1pass)
and then interleaving
video>direct stream copy audio>interleaving SAVE (1pass)
would I have the same result ? is it ''reencoding'' as you asked ?
thanks |
