Hello,

I want to eliminate the camera rotation from my GoPro footage while riding a wave and turning the kite.
Has any body an idea what settings in virtualdub+deshaker I have to change to achieve something like this?
https://vimeo.com/6929840
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbVgC7j0Khc...wYUy6n1q1vSZQDQ
Or is there any other sofware I can use to do this automatically – stabilize the horizon? To do this manually is really very, very slow.
First clip was done with virtualdub, second with some other software and tools. I tried to contact both, but never got a response... :-(
I also found this done with warp stabilizer and After effects. Anybody tried this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-R8y37ERYA Looks pretty perfect...
I also tried the "Stabbo" filter for virtual dub, but had no luck with installing it: http://stabbo.sourceforge.net/
Many thanks for your help

Do you think stabbo can do what I want. Better than the deshaker. Look at my links. I want the Clip to rotate automatically. Would this be possible?

Stabbo is just developed I have yet to try it, had a look as yet unsure of its settings will try it when I have time to do so

Deshaker is proven and is good. Have a look at Deshaker web site for settings use and this forum for help. Many posts are already posted which can easily found using the forum search

Bovine.exe is what I used to find what was need to run Stabbo. I guess other XP users may have tried and found it didn't load. If they find the vcomp110.dll from a trusted source or at microsoft (if available) maybe the stabbo thread will get feedback and development continues. Better if Stabbo had a quick development change to use vcomp100.dll or vcomp120.dll that are on XP OS already !

Maybe Deshaker can correct the problems you have it has settings for those problems. Read Deshaker web site and here vis search may find the answer. Or maybe someone here that has done similar correction to their video can help you further

that dll's part of the runtime for visual studio 2012
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/de...s.aspx?id=30679
(normally you'd include the runtime installer with an installer, or give a link to it)

just allow deshaker to rotate
Maximum rotation angle - set to something big.
Rotation smoothing set to no smoothing (if I remember -1).

Deshaker is the best and allows the most control over any other deshaking program. But just like a good tool, its complex and requires some tinkering. When I get home, I will send you my settings for the video you are interested in.

Where is the original video?

Hello,

thanks for your Support. Here ist a sample Clip. Left the original and left the stabilized Clip. In the Settings I only changed in pass1 disabled the "detect zoom". In Pass2 I only changed "Motion smoothness rotation" in -1 and "max correction Limits Rotation" in 360. Thats all...

It`s better than before, but I wished always the horizon above. Maybe someone has better understanding of the deshaker and can give me some more help.

P.S.: Has anybody an idea, how I can make the deshaker work faster?

Looked at the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TK3U0Snu8c...wYUy6n1q1vSZQDQ
So he actually implemented a hardware piece to track orientation, very interesting.

I believe with your clip nothing can be done easily. Deshaker needs consistency in the image to align frames, and the horizon is not even visible all times.
I would add second pass with manually edited interpolated rotation.

Try these settings. The key is small pixel blocks and low discarding of wrong pixels.
