Hi is it possible to crop out parts of a video using Virtualdub, one of my videos i took my camera messed up and the protector screen that covers the lens did not open fully so all i have is 2 black areas with a gap in between, the thing i was filming is actually visible in that gap but i want to crop it so that the black areas are not visible, is this possible and if so how?
Thanks Jay |

If you only want to crop a few frames without touching the rest you can use the EZmask filter. Select the part to keep (it turns black) then 'Inverse' - the rest of the frame will be black. If you want to apply the filter only to a specific range instead of the whole video, you select 'Blend' on the filter menu. Click 'View' > 'Curve editor' and choose the frames to apply. When satisfied, click Video > Smart rendering and select the same compression as the source (else the whole video will be recompressed). http://www.infognition.com/VirtualDubFilte...rs/effects.html The example shows the filter being applied to frames 100-130.
