Have a 64 bit W7 PC
Running 32 bit VD ver 1.10
downloaded latest 32bit plugin of DeShaker (3.0)
Open VD
Load an avi (confirmed plays fine with MPC)
Test run in VD it plays fine
> video >filters > add > Deshaker ver 3.0
Select Pass 1
All as per defaults .. only change was to 'tick' append box (as per DeShaker page help comments)
>OK
then >OK on filter box

On VD Press output screen button to 'play'

It starts, and as expected on output screen shows the motion detect lines & dots.
However around 70-100 frames in, the output screen goes black.
If I progress to loading again and applying pass2 .... end result in that avi starts to pay then I get message "This frame was not processed in pass1"

I have tried it on several avi clips ... on some of them it fails with same message immediately not after ~100 frames.

I must have something fundamentally wrong ... any clues appreciated.

I have never needed the Append option. From the help page:
QUOTE
...Unless the Append to file option is enabled, the log file will be emptied as soon as you start processing in pass 1
Normally, if you play the video straight through in pass 1, you want to start with an empty log file.

It looks like Append is for advanced processing:
QUOTE
...You can use the Append to file option to continue writing to the same log file. You can then change the settings, step a few frames, change again, step some more etc. The frame numbers are written to the log file so you can even go back and redo some frames. If a frame exists more than once in the log file, the last one is used in pass 2.

Reading this again, it seems to me you should try letting it play all the way through, even if the screen is black. If you stop playback in Pass 1, naturally you will get "This frame was not processed" when running Pass 2.

Another reason for this error (which I have experienced) is because the settings are too strict (or to put it another way, the video is too shaky). Try liberalizing the settings, so as not to reject as many frames. Here's a screen shot I made for a different thread (which is why the Rotation setting was highlighted), but you can see all my settings, albeit dimly (I'm not claiming any special expertise here, remember)

If you want good results with deshaker, export single file to raw rgb file and then deshake the rgb file. The new version is temperamental.
