I have a problem with synchronisation of a videofile, It seems like the framerate has changed eventhough I did not change it in any way. If I play the original file in BSplayer it is perfect from beginning to end.
I made subtitles to this file and when displayed with bsplayer they also are in perfect sync, but when i load the file into virtualdub and let it play without any extra, just the left (input?) button so only the input pane and already the vid seems to be out of sync, that is at the beginning it is OK but the further it plays the worse it gets, so I conclude something is wrong with the framerate, but I can find nothing wrong. It is set to [no change] So is it the codec or what?
Playback on BSplayer or on the tv's usb-port of the file is ok. I invested a lot of time creating the subtitlefile and wanted to upload a version to vimeo with subtitles to share it. I am using virtualdub since at least 10 yrs, this is the first time I cant get it done Anybody knows this problem or even better know how to fix this? |

Paste a/v and a/v decompressor specifications (file/file information/copy) Try VD default parameters by saving back-up and deleting registry values [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VirtualDub.org]
or file bug report in testing section of this forum. |

Paste a/v and a/v decompressor specifications (file/file information/copy) Do you mean a printscreen ? as I dont see any possibility to copy this.

In File Information you can see that actually the Xvid decoder is being used by default to decode the DX50 (DivX) encoded video. Better would be if it should be decoded by the original DivX codec (but I have no experience with this codec in Windows 8.x).
To verify if the Xvid video decoder is causing the problem, you could try by opening the video via the DirectShow or the FFMpeg inputdriver plugin for VirtualDub. Do you get the same desynchronisation when playing the file in VirtualDub, after it has been opened by one of these inputdrivers ?
If you have a second computer available with VirtualDub installation, you could check if you get the same phenomenon on this one.
Chances are great that nothing is wrong with the videofile itself, because you say it is playing correctly via a mediaplayer and also via USB on a TV.
Did you also try to play it via the default Windows Media Player ? Probably it will play correctly as well. |

Can be controlled (off|on) from... Start > All Programs > Xvid... > Configure Decoder > FourCC Support |

No, its copy button in 1.10.4 "stable" release (could "stable" has something in common with stables?)
Don't know what's causing async. Could be interlaced divx movie or 48>44.1kHz transform using external windows filter. Mediainfo could be helpful too! |

I find audio sync in preview to be hit and miss with high definition video - playback lags too much. Try making a short test video (you know how to select a clip right?) and check it for sync in BS Player or (better yet) MPC-HC.
@meowmeow: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/stable "Origin of STABLE: Middle English, from Anglo-French estable, stable, from Latin stabilis, from stare to stand" - so yeah. Both are "standing" |
