Remember the old Movieola editing machine for 8 & 16 mm film?
As simple as that was, that is the type of Video Editing program I have been trying to find for years, a KISS Principle pure linar idiot proof program just do cut and paste any video file format. The closest thing I have found is the REAUTHOR tool in DVD SHRINK, but that cannot be made to a larger screen size. Any simple video editing program like this around?

  • You need to be more specific - "simple" to you may not be simple to someone else.
Likewise, there is no such thing as "idiot proof" for all values of "idiot" wink.gif

  • "cut and paste any video file format" - if you're doing this, already you have complexity. All files must be converted to a common format. Which common format do you want?

  • Moviolas supported cuts only. No special effects at all. Is that what you are looking for?

  • If you pre-convert all your footage to a suitable common format, VirtualDub works acceptably for cuts-only editing.

  • Have you looked at Windows Live Movie Maker? It's relatively easy as video editors go.
Whether it meets your needs & personal preferences, I have no way of knowing.
I wrote an article a while back, Comparing Video Editors and Encoders for Fraps users, basically listing features available for VirtualDub, WLMM, StaxRip, Premiere, Vegas and a few others.
