Hi there,
Ive got following problem.
I do capture some TV programs (through my TV tuner to my comp. to be precise) but the captured file is of course very big. So I want to encode it with VirtDub.
Its ok with video compression (I use Divx4 - fast motion codec) but when I also select audio codec (I usually try MP3) and then try to encode it (save it) nothing happens. Without audio compression it works but its obviously still too big.
It worked once I used NanDub, but only once now it also crashes
So what amI doing wrong?
Ive heard that there are some problems with MP3 codecs, so is there any other audio codecs useable with similar compression/quality results?
Tnx
Lewis

first pass: set audio to no audio, DirectStreamCopy/ video as you like sec. pass: set audio to avi audio, FullProcessingMode and select your mp3 compression (NO DivX;-)audio!)/ and of course video as you know
install lame_acm you'll be satisfied
cheers Sill

There is no DivX4 Fast Motion but only DivX3.11 ;-) Fast Motion. Could please be precise about what you use? Anyway I don't think that the video codec you're using is causing any problems here.
As Sill said: install lame_acm
and no there's no alternative to MP3 if you use AVI files.

Well if you meant here as in his situation possibly yes. But here as in the board the definatly no. IIRC it is one of the verboten codecs. |

depends on which DivX codec he meant. Saying "DivX4 Fast Motion" isn't perferctly clear |
