Is there, somewhere out there, a DTS codec? I've got plenty of AC3 codecs but none that recognize DTS. Some of the codec's originating applications can handle DTS but it's obviously being handled by something other than their main AC3 codecs.

I'm at a loss and this is irritating, as I prefer to use Media Player Classic for all my video viewing needs.

Clues anyone?

DTS is completely closed, it would have to be revers engineered AFAIK ..... maybe valex is successful here ?

Oh $%#^&$.

I noticed that some of the sware dvd players (InterVideo/nVidia NVDVD etc) are capable of DTS... wonder if it's a normal codec that's locked a la MS?

BTW, here's the AC3 codecs I've found so far - are there any more and which is the 'best' for either basic stereo output or full blown surround? With/Without S/PDIF?

CODE
CyberLink  [Audio 3.5.1004 Video 3.5.1011]
Elecard    [Audio 1.00 Video 1.29.0.0811]
Fraunhofer [Audio 3.00.0804 Video 1.0]
InterVideo
        - Audio 1.2
        - Audio 2.0
        - Audio 4.0.11.83 Video 4.0.11.83
        - Audio 4.5.80 Video 4.0.65.0
Ligos      [Video 1.2.0.79]
nVidia     [Audio 2.22 Video 2.22]

That was a cut'n'paste job from a textfile I have inside my archive, listing where my sources for the codecs are. The Video portion refers to the matching MPEG2 codec if present.

None of the buggers do DTS outside of their parent app. sad.gif

Yeah, I knew and keep a close eye on that - forgot to add it to the list as it's constantly evolving, so it doesn't belong in that archive.

Cheers, nonetheless! ;'D
