Hi guys im new here and after a little help. i use TMPGenc to convert all of my video file to vcd and i always use virtual dub to seperate the wav file first and remove and sync errors. However recently i have come accross a few problems, I have no problem seperating the wav file from iether avi or standard mpg files. But i have started to find a problem when i dl an mpg that is ready to burn as a svcd. As my dvd player is old it doesnt understand svcd so i have to convert them to vcd and if i do this direct the sound goes well out of sync but i just cannot seperate the audio with virtual dub when i try to load it i just get "cannot determine the file type of...."

The file itself plays fine on my machine so i have the correct codecs to play it but it just wont be recognised by virtual dub. Is there some patch, codec for virtual dub i can get as i really want to keep using this programme as it is so effective.

Any help would be great.TIA

Jon

SVCD is MPEG2 Virtualdub can not handle it. But if you have experience frameserving DVD to Virtualdub then you can do the same with SVCD files. I just encoded Spirited Away with a recent Xvid dev build form a 3 SVCD set. I got it down to 1 CD with almost perfect quality.
