Greeting everyone, I know this isn't really a VirtualDub prob but i've tried everything else and no one can help me and reading these forums i figure you guys know a thing or 2 about codecs.....

here it goes...

I've encoded with divx before with no trouble at all many times well I updated to 5.0 and tried to compress some of my animations first with 2-pass and i got this error " error in log file " and then in quality pass and it gave me this "video compression error : bad format (-2)" so i figured it was a crummy version so i re-installed 4.12 and stil it was messed up. Does anytone have any suggestions for how to troubleshoot this?

thanx in advance

Hello,
think you tried to encode a "bad" resolution, that is not a multiple of 2. You should have a resolution like 512*384 or 640*480... for example, no 365*243 or something similar.
