Hello,
I have windows 2000 and have the same problem.

I looked at the registry after reading the doom9 thread
regarding empty entried in refistrt , but I do not
have any empty entries there.

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&t...&threadid=24305

I do see many many more codes in DirectShow graphEdit
(under direct show codecs). But in Virtual Dub I do not
many many of them (if fact, I see about a quarter).

What to do ?

Regards,
Sting

Hi,

I'm new in this forum so I hope that you can help solve my problem.
I am using XP x64 XP2 and I have the same problem - codecs not appearing in VirtualDub's compression menu (other programs too). I have installed the latest K-Lite Codec Pack (the full version) and I can play all avi files. The problem is that I can't compress in AVI - the codecs simply don't appear in VDub and all other programs that compress video files. So I came accros this forum and this specific thread. I did all that is said - to check my registry for keys with empty values but there were none so my problem persists.

There are no codecs in the Device Manager too.

Make sure you're not trying to use 32-bit codecs in a 64-bit program -- can't cross bitness.
