Hi there,

I am experience problem opening MOV file recorded from Canon EOS 7D.

Basically, the video can be played, sound is okay. However the video will turn periodically to grey in playback. When I export, the grey region remains.

I had uploaded a video captured while playback in virtualdub here:

Please help!

I had tried it on WinXP and Win7, the problem remains.

Rgd.

If You use QuickTime import plugin, tried to set (in 'extended' import options when opening a file) different video decoder mode than default (ICM Decomp or MoviesTask)?

Or... if You use DirectShow import driver problem does not occur when playing in a DirectShow player (such as WMP)?

Hi thanks for response! Really needed help here.

Yes I used MOV import plugin, YES! A moviedecoder mode works in the extended options! Thanks!

And to answer your other question, DirectShot got no problem when I play it with MediaPlayerClassic.

OMG EXTENDED IMPORT OPTIONS! IT WORKS! Now is there way I can set it as default when I open MOV files?

After selecting a video decoder mode, click Save to Quicktime.ini option.
