The message says:

Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'H264' (unknown)

VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.

Okay, what does that mean and what are we doing wrong? I don't really know what a "decompressor" is, or what the "format H264" stands for.

Really the whole message is confusing so if someone could just interpret that for us I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes pity on us...

You need an H.264 codec.

Install this: http://komisar.gin.by/old/1820/x264vfw.182...generic.x86.exe
