I record Warcraft with Fraps on a Vista Home machine. I had been using VirtualDub with mpeg-4 v2 on an XP box.
I have lost access to the XP machine and I am looking for a equitable replacement.
What Vista codec will give me the same results as the old mpeg-4 V2? |

Can try ffdshow VFW (ffdshow video codec).

BTW And is there a compelling reason to use MS MPEG-4 v2 instead Xvid?

XviD or x264 depending on how fast your computer is. x264 compresses better but takes more power.

Thank you both.
Honestly, I must have been lucky, when I ran a few of the available codecs mpeg-4 v2 worked great. I did not even look at the configuration tab. Now that I have to find something else, I am realizing just how little I know.
I will give XviD a try. |
