when I convert VOB to avi divxr, its no problem when I use a program called "simpledivx" ,but in Virtualdub , it crashes" , is this a bug or just simply impossible for VD to do ? |

It shouldn't be a problem at all
You have the latest divx? that's 6.9.2 for the vfw version (and that's quite old as it is)
The crash report might be useful if it happens again

Is it safe to try this DivX 8.1.1 version

does anyone know what the Limitations are of this trial version ? and does
it stop working after 30 days or so ? |

I'd just go to www.divx.com and get it from there
The difference with pro and standard is that the pro version unlocks some of the compression features
Without a pro key (or after the pro trial runs out), you can still use the standard settings
Or you could use Xvid - the latest versions come with divx profiles built-in

Just remember to tick the zone option 'begin with keyframe'
