Hi,
following up to this thread: http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...=ST&f=3&t=16983
chornobyl referred to http://lame.sourceforge.net/tech-FAQ.txt which explaines that seamless splicing of MP3s is achieved by encoding with the --nores flag.
So my question is: Is this possible in VirtualDub?
Thanks! |

No, I don't have control over the MP3 encoding parameters. You can, however, encode the audio externally and bring that in via the Audio from other file... option, and you'll get the same effect. |

Hi phaeron,
yeah, thanks, that would surely work, but it's cumbersome when cutting many sequences out of a movie.
May I suggest a feature: Do you know Audiograbber? It has the option to use LAME (et al) as external encoder and pass user-defined parameters to it. In other words: Audiograbber calls the command-line encoder and just waits till the MP3 is done. Wouldn't that be possible in VirtualDub too? (I can post a screenshot from Audiograbber if you want :-)
Cheers! |

That doesn't really work for my purposes -- I need the data streamed as process both audio and video. |
