... What's going on?
Has mr. Graft disappeared? Has he been kidnapped by aliens to clean video on some distant planet? Has their spaceship crashed on the way back?
Where the heck is he?!

Indeed, all of neuron2.net has disappeared!
IIRC, his ISP once shut down his site while he was on vacation (or something stupid like that), and he had to go through a lot of nonsense to get back online. Hopefully neuron2.net will reappear soon. If not, he and his site will be sorely missed...

"missing in action" more than 6 months now.
i didn't wanted to make a news from this (web site disappeared yesterday) because i don't have idea how to fix a problem, although once i asked him for a backup of the forum (if something happens so he's not around), but he said he has a backup.
let's hope he'll be back soon, or , if not, that somebody can resurrect his site, like he did for others. (you guys in the usa, give him a call, see if he's ok... if he was living here, i would already know all the details.)
last time i heard from him, he said he was off to visit his dad in the hospital.

It could simply be a hacked forum. phpBB has recently been the target of some nasty hacks. There was even a CERT advisory about it on 21 december.

Let's just hope he wasn't in India on Boxing Day
It appears he hasn't written on Usenet for some time either.. |

It's touching to be missed.
Am I allowed to swear here? Maybe best to play it safe. ****'ing ipowerweb!
They did the you've been suspended for "abuse" trick again, and I'm not going to take it anymore. I could get in to make a dump of my forum SQL data+structure so breathe easy, y'all. Now I am ready to rehost the site and domain name but the ipowerweb ***'ers are dillying in removing the REGISTRAR-LOCK. I'll give them a few days and then whine directly to TUCOWS.
Regarding my absence, well it was one of those little sabbaticals. I was just coming back to fix some bugs in DGMPGDec and do some other interesting stuff I thought of, and the damn site is down.
During the sabbatical I proved to my satisfaction that Special Relativity is a load of crap and that there is a fine Galilean Electrodynamics as well as a simple demonstration that Maxwell's equations are covariant under a Galilean transformation. Furthermore, the Michelson-Morley experiment was misinterpreted due to a failure to consider anomalous reflection from moving mirrors, and that a null result is thereby predicted by a Galilean transform. That means the M-M result disproves SR, because taking the anomalous reflection into account means SR *predicts* a non-null result. Anyone wanna argue about this?
Regarding Pondicherry, India, where I visit and have many friends, you'll be happy to know that the town proper is some meters above sea level and has an effective sea-wall. The tsunami did wash up the fisherman's channel and kill a few people (sadly), but my assets and friends were not affected.
Anyway, here I am ready to work again. It'll just be a few days (I hope) before I can shake my domain name loose and point it at my new host, and get the forum backup imported.
Meanwhile I'll read around here to see what's been happening. |

Yeah, yeah, enough with the physics stuff. Where are the improved filters?
Good to hear you're back, and that you and your friends are safe. I've been a victim of the "abuse" excuse with a past web provider, so I know what you mean. |

why not? i know i am.

that was my guess, as i know they did it before.

next time tell us "see you in half-year time", so we don't worry. hehe...

i could of told you this right away. <wink> i don't like einsten's stuff in general. not one bit.
in general, i dislike science becoming more and more of a science-fiction. i dislike the notion of moving with a plane and putting some atom clocks inside to see how their time is different. i dislike calculating earth's axis offset , and earth speeding-up because of the earthquake. i think these people are really bored: they should be engaged in coding a better denoisers ( ).
| QUOTE | | Anyone wanna argue about this? |
about speed of light? i think such things are as fun to discuss as a trans-warp engines on star-trek series: no fun at all. ohh wait..sorry...i think you're a fan of star-trek actually. why do people turn to space, if they can't even figure out their brains? those damned rockets also consume too much fuel, i believe!
| QUOTE | | Regarding Pondicherry, India |
if i wanna see the india, i just visit the next gypsy 'resort'. <wink>
a sad thing with the tsunami disaster.
nice to see you back.

Glad to know you're ok!!

Relativity is IMHO just a mathematical description of a high level emergent effect of quantum gravity. Relativity is to quantum gravity, what chemistry is to quantum mechanics.
The problem is, we don't yet have a QG theory, so we can't really explain why things work out this way. Until we get QG, were going to keep finding 'oddities' in GR.
A lot of effort is being put into String Theory right now along these lines, as a QG theory at least.
Oh, and welcome back! |

@Cyberia
Well, at least you think relativistic effects arise from physics rather than just the mathematics of a space-time definition.
@all
My site is back up at both neuron2.net and neuron2.org. It may take a while for the usual DNS propagation to everyone but they're working for me now.
I've uploaded the forum SQL dump and the admin guys are going to bring it up for me. I can't figure out all that MySQL, MyPHP, and phpBB stuff. If all goes well I'll be back in action tomorrow and FREE of the hell-hole known as "ipowerweb". They've still not answered my query about why my site is suspended. I might pursue it just for giggles. I had to complain to TUCOWS to get them to unlock my domain name.
