I'm trying to use ZoomPlayer to play an XCD.
I downloaded a .bin and .cue file for a movie. Within the .bin file the movie is located in the MPEG2 directory. This movie file can either be a .MPG or .DAT file etc...
I have the cdxareader codec installed and used Nero to rip the cd..
I am able to watch the movie but my questions are this:
1. Is there a special reader or program used to open cd's cut from the .bin & .cue files for an XCD? or am I even ripping the movie correctly by using Nero.
1. Within the .bin file there are a couple of directories such as EXT with SCANDATA.DAT, MPEG2 with the movie, SEGMENT ...Is Empty... and SVCD with many .SVD file and a Search.Dat file. Basically, What are the purpose of these files. When I extract the movie by itself it plays ok? Does a specific program need or use them in order to watch the movie correctly. A .cue file may look something like this: FILE "ShareConnector.bin" BINARY TRACK 01 MODE2/2352 FLAGS DCP INDEX 01 00:00:00 TRACK 02 MODE2/2352 FLAGS DCP INDEX 00 00:04:00 INDEX 01 00:06:00 INDEX 02 04:51:33 ... INDEX 20 79:30:72
If I delete all but the movie from the .bin file using UltraISO and leave the Movie.MPG .DAT can I still cut a cd that will work correctly or not.
2. How exactly am I suppose to open these Movies? I cut a cd using the .bin & .cue files using Nero. All files are on the CD. To open a movie I browse the CD to the MPEG2 directory and then double click on the file to have it open with ZoomPlayer.
3. When the movie opens with ZoomPlayer and I check filters properties how come Nero Video Decoder is present. If I rename the filter to make it unregistered but still have the cdxareader codec (cdxareader.ax) installed how come the movies don't use this as a filter codec to play the movies; I have to, so far, have the Nero Video Decoder (NeVideo.ax) active on my system? How do I get ZoomPlayer to use the cdxareader.ax codec and not the NeVideo.ax Nero Video Decoder. How come when I open Player Options (Advance Mode) for Zoom Player and look under Filter Control, there is no mention anwhere under any tab forof CDXA Reader. Yet when I open AnalogX DXMan the codec cdxareader.ax exists. Is CDXA Reader suppose to read or use those other files located in the other directories on the CD?
Thanks for Any Help with know how to either cut or watch these CDX CD's |

isn't there a converter (command line it was) that converts xcd files to normal files?
dext made it.
http://es.geocities.com/dextstuff/mode2cdmaker.html
(look at dext's home http://es.geocities.com/dextstuff/ seems like he's always on a cutting edge of uselessness; now it's mpeg4ip, before it was xcd; both things equally useless.... look at the "impressive" list of"MP4 players & sample content " )
but...uhm... look at this VirtualDubMod 1.5.1.x (19/05/03) with asf support this might be interesting. i'll dload that one. (as of recently i'm using wmv(asf) more and more)
but..enuff of offtopic; leo tell us if above mentioned links helped.

Yes, I visited and dowloaded the supposed necessary software from this site. http://es.geocities.com/dextstuff/mode2cdmaker.html
" isn't there a converter (command line it was) that converts xcd files to normal files?
Like I said I downloaded the supposed software... Not too sure how to use them however under WinXP w SP2. When a file is executed a dos (cmd prompt) window pops up then suddenly disappears...
I'll keep tinkering with it in my spare time.
Thanks for your help. |

I have no problem opening the .DAT file types with VDub but when I try to open the .MPG file with VDub I get an error... No video frame found in MPEG file.
I however at one time was able to open these MPG files with VDub but not anymore. Can someone please help me figure out how to get these MPG files to open with VDub.
Perhaps I missing a required codec... But not sure which one.
found a dat2fileGUI (.dat to .avi) file converter.
Thanks for any help. |
