I have a mpeg file that is about 800MB, thus not fitting on a VCD. How do I split it and with what program? |

VCDs are typically burnt in mode2 form2 and thus allow 800 MB on a normal 80 mins CD, without overburning. Fire up Nero or WinOnCD, tell them you wnat to create a Video CD and drag and drop the MPEG on them .....

The file is actually 823MB big. Too big for a normal 80 min. CD. What program can I use to either split the file, or convert it an AVI and split it with VirtualDub? |

yes you could do it with virtualdub and convert to avi or use TMPGEnc and use the source-range function in the project-wizard in both cases youd have to re-encode the file which isnt really what you want
there must be a cleaner way to do this... have you ever tried to look for a mpeg-cutter or splitter on the internet (or on this board)?

No, I haven't found any mpeg-cutters anywhere on the internet or on this board. Does anyone else know of something? |
