Does anyone have an idea of how you could create [from scratch] a 5.0 audio source for a DVD and match it to chapters??

Basically I want to make my own home grown test DVD to check the response curves in my room but I"m not sure where to start.

I know that you need a license for DD 5.x but I figure that there is likely a freeware solution to my specific issue.

Any ideas or pointers??

You can use Aften as a free AC3 encoder.
