I paid 250.00 for my camera back in 2006. Here's what it costs new:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DCR-TRV280-Digi...79140417&sr=1-7

I've seen some places charge 999.99 for the same model.

I understand that these cameras are obsolete but how can anybody overcharge for such a device and people actually buy into it?

I have seen D8's and MiniDV's that were once cheap, now their like 500 and up!

I'm looking to get a video camera some time in the near future but it seems that if you want decent quality and a CCD sensor camera, you have to pay prices starting at 800.00 and up. That's far beyond my means. To be honest a lot of the the consumer digitals compress the footage a lot that the quality isn't as good as DV tape in my opinion. These consumer HD's, a lot of them, give me sea sickness while watching their footage they produce.

Is there any place I could buy a tape camera and not pay a 1000.00 or am I holding my breath?
