Hopefully someone can help me out on this. Every time I edit an avi file, and view the new file, there is a sort of purplish tint that flashes in and out every few keyframes. Similar to when you have speakers too close to the tv, and a purplish stain appears on the screen. But in my case, the video alternates between normal color and that puplish tint. Any suggestions? Thanx

Unfortunatly I am not aware of a way to fix it. But I have known it to happen only with MSMPEG4 encoded content. Is that the case here?

I really am not sure the format of the avi's. They all are dvd rips, and I have tried 10 to 15 different files with exactly that same problem. Another thing, I can see that puplish tint even when I'm in the process of marking the section of the file to be cut. So the problem is there when before virtual dub begins to cut the file

Are you using any filter, something else?
May be the file is Xvid?
When you play it in Media player is it purple too?
If the case is yes, did you try using ffdshow?

It's set to direct stream copy, I can't use any filters. Unless I'm not understanding it properly? I did download and install ffshadow tho

I know, but what happened with ffdshow?
Did your file play correctly via ffdshow?
I mean using Windows media player.
