When you download something from the Internet the frame rates are all over the place for sizes. As near as I can tell however industry standards seem to be PAL @ 25fps and NTSC @ 23.976 or 29.976fps.

Vdub has a Frame Rate adjust, but when used it puts audio out of sync.

The question is of course why doesn't Vdub keep everything in SYNC?
It would be nice to be able to make the Frame Rates equal to one of the standards with out spending hours making the various files and remuxing to do so.

Changing the frame rate of the video also has the effect of changing the video stream's duration, which is what causes the de-synchronization. There are programs that can squash or stretch the audio stream's duration to keep it in sync, unfortunately VirtualDub is not one of them.

BTW, those industry standard frame rates are for broadcast television only. Non-standard frame rates should not be a problem if you're only going to be watching the videos on your computer.

Actually would like to get all of the various downloads that I have into the same formats DIVX, AUDIO and FRAME RATE.

Would like to have my files standardized.

Want to turn all the oranges and bannanas into nice shiny apples.

Not knocking independence of those who make the AVI Videos/Movies but it would be nice to see some sort of Standards set and kept for the benifit of all. Unfortunatelly the only way Standards can be set is through the way the software is programed and set up.

A lot of these I burn to CDRW so I can watch on TV due to poor eyesight.

AVI was never ment to set standards for framerate, etc, as there was no hardware support plan for it...... M$ was proud it is flexible, and cn use any framerates, etc ...
