just wondering if there's a way to convert an entire folder of vids usung an external encoder without adding each job one by one to job control. i know you can do it without an external encoder, but if i want it to be mp4, i have to use external encoder. thanks. |

Not as far as I know. The best I can suggest is: set a custom keyboard shortcut for "Jobs.ExportViaEncoder" (I use Control+Shift+E) to (slightly) speed up the process of adding files.
If you don't like that idea, I'd suggest you try a different tool. WinFF is a good one. Select a preset, drag in a bunch of files, go. |

i could also just use handbrake to mass covert, but i'm also trying to take advantage of the filters available to virtualdub :-/. |

You can do it with a .bat file and a virtualdub script (you can copy one from virtualdub's .jobs file) There's an example of doing a direct stream copy at http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...hl=entry96803 Also, if you use a shared jobs list, you can have one virtualdub working on a queue while adding too it with another virtualdub (or .bat file) Help for that's on here somewhere and in virtualdub's help file

You're right plus I forgot about my own script generating batch file, posted under Using vdub.exe as a Muxer.
Here's yet another one (it's the oldest, and also seems more polished): Scripted VirtualDub Job Creation |

ah, i didn't even think to inspect the job control file! i didn't realize it was just plain text :-p. thanks for the info! i just took a cursory glance at the resources you provided, but it looks promising. hopefully i'll be able to create a script that can automatically produce the jobs that i need! |
