Hi to everyone! I have converted a video with mpeg-ps to avi with VirtualDub but after the conversion there is a problem of synchronization between audio and video, in particular the audio is delayed by images. I have tried to do some things such as "interleaving" or "change video and audio match" from the "frame rate" menu but it hasn't worked. What should I do now? Thank you very much.

Probably the delay between audio and video is as large at the beginning of the video, as at the end of the video.

In this case the solution is rather easy:

In VirtualDub's Audio-menu, go to Interleaving, and at Audio skew correction, you can "Delay the audio track by" a number of milliseconds.
This can be a negative value, if you want the audio to start earlier, or
This can be a positive value, if you want the audio to start later.

It will be a case of a little trial and error...
Introduce a value, click OK and play the video in VirtualDub via the Input Playback button (the second button from the left),
and look what it gives.

You probably know that in a video of 25 frames per second, each frame takes 40 milliseconds.
So, if you have to resolve a delay of about 4 frames, then introduce a value of "100".

Good luck.

If you play the problem AVI using VLC or MPC, you can adjust the delay and note the reading when its in sync.
In MPC, use the number pad + or - keys.
In VLC use j or k.

Open the AVI in VirtualDub, set Video to Direct Stream Copy then insert the delay that you noted.
Resave the AVI.

-------------------------
In general that, button at the left the third.
Master one more program - video idle time the editor better. For example, Mpeg Video Wizard DVD. For one, still you learn a lot of things. And all the same not to cope with one VD. There will be more many various videos. With which with VD not to manage.
Good luck.

Thank you very much to everyone! I have found the way to resolve the problem: I've used VLC Media player in order to cut useless scenes and VirtualDub to convert the video in avi format and it has worked! After the conversion of the video there is synchronization between audio and video. However thanks again!
