Ffdshow Can Use Avisynth Filters?

I was told that ffdshow can use avisynth filters. Is this true? If so, is there any special steps to making this work in ffdshow? Can anyone recommend certain filters for use with ffdshow? I plan to mostly use ffdshow for watching xvid and divx that may be slightly under par (or more than slightly) in quality. Thanks.
