Avisynth is nice, virtualdub's filters are nice, so how about combining them ?
My idea: take Avisynth's filter interface, and add GUI capabilities (like vdub's filter configuration windows). Mix that with the capability to combine virtualdub filters and avisynth filters in one filter chain without weird avisynth importing scripts. Bake in olive oil and wait until golden brown. Serve with a sniff of pepper.
What do you think ? Possible, impossible ? Doable, undoable ? Nice idea ? Tell me.

mf,
there is a name already for what you are proposing :
UFI ( Universal Filter Interface )
I guess you know where to turn to about it ...

Omg. No. No. No. No. This is just sick.
I'm calling this thing the VirtualDubMod Filter API, and there's NOTHING universal about it. Besides, UCI, UMI, UFI, when is UCI going to be completed ? And that other stuff ? I don't believe in it. I want something quickly done instead of pondered over for months after which still zero coding has been done.
