I've experienced 3 crashes while trying to do the same operation. I'm using virtualdub 1.4.13, the p4 version. Trying to compress a video using xvid and using an avisynth script as my source. There are two filters in the script, textsub and decomb. Any ideas? I can post the error log if needed.

Edit:
Fixed. was a problem with the xvid codec.
