Hello!
Well, I was just encoding a large MPEG2 video, (which I de-muxed to get the audio seperated and put the .mpg into an avs-file to get the video) But all that doesn't matter. what DOES matter is:
After 2 and a half hours of rendering (I ensured there was enough disk space left before), the program just ABORTED and stopped everything. Another program has piled up a huge temporary file that consumed all space, I didn't think of that. So all the time encoding was in vain.
Just a simple "retry" like every archiver software like RAR has, would have solved the problem! So you can make some space, delete some rubbish and continue just where you stopped!
I'm a programmer myself and it doesn't seem too hard to realize.
I think many people stumbled over this issue but thought "It's okay, it was my fault...". Well I don't say it's virtualdub's fault, hey, I really love and adore this program!
But it would be even more adoreable if it had this function!
(Actually this request was the only reason I subscribed to this forum!) |
