Virtualdub 1.5.1 Crashes Explorer, ... and Office Shortcut Bar

Clicking on a VirtualDub-Link in MS-Office Shotcut Bar crashed the Shortcut Bar, left click as well as right click. While trying to work out what was wrong with the link I observed that right-clicking on a VirtualDub link in Start folder or on the program icon in the program files folder crashes Explorer. No such behaviour with VD 1.4.13. Has anyone a hint?
