Hi,

I have tried to use the last directshow filter, provided here http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...=ST&f=7&t=15093, but whatever I try to put the x32 or x64 plugin in corresponding folder, I can never select directshow filter in the open box of VD.
This version is dated 2012. I'm still using one dated 2008, working quite well.

What have I done wrongly?

Thank you
Rmanal

If you're saying you are using VirtualDub version 1.8.x, it is very old. Try again with version 1.10.4

EDIT apologies, I see now you are saying the old DirectShow plugin works OK, but the new one doesn't.

I have a Windows 7 32-bit.

Extract "DShowInputDriver.vdplugin" out of the "DShowInputDriver-v0.93.zip" into subfolder plugins32 of VirtualDub.

(exemple C:\Program Files\VirtualDub 1.10.5\plugins32\DShowInputdriver.vdplugin)

VirtualDub 1.10.4 (build 35491) and VirtualDub 1.10.5 (build 35512) are working fine with DirectShow plugin v0.93.

I have redone a complete installation of VD32 and VD64 with DShowinputdriver 0.93:
- With VD32, I can not select it
- With VD64, it works well

In the DShowInputDriver-0.93.zip, I have:
release
DShowInputDriver.vdplugin => I have selected this one for the 32bits version
x64
release
DShowInputDriver.vdplugin => I have selected this one for the 64bits version

Could you send me the DShowInputDriver.vdplugin you have used for the 32bits version?

I've got it from here:

If you have put the "DShowInputDriver.vdplugin" in the "plugins32" subfolder of where VirtualDub.exe is installed, then I do not have an explanation why it should not work.

In VirtualDub version 1.10.5 you should see it when you click the Options-menu -> Plug-ins...

What is strange is that the post if from 2008, as my "old" file, but in the zip you have a 2012 file.
Do you have a mail where I can send you the file I have for VD32?

When you read the first post in the thread
http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...=ST&f=7&t=15093,
thus the post of 10 jan. 2008, you will see at the end:

"This post has been edited by phaeron on Apr 21 2012, 11:06 PM"

That was the last time that Phaeron published a new version (version 0.93) of his DirectShow plugin for VirtualDub,
and that is also the "Date modified" of the DShowInputDriver.vdplugin files (one for 32-bit and another one for 64-bit).

It has no use that you would send me your version of the 32-bit DShowInputDriver.vdplugin file.
I can not help you with that.

The only thing that I can repeat, once again, is that if you put that 32-bit version of the DShowInputDriver.vdplugin file into the plugins32 subfolder of where your VirtualDub.exe (32-bit) is in, it should be available in the File > Open video file... dialogbox, when clicking at Files of type ... "DirectShow input driver" is just before the last entry in that list.

If it is NOT there, then I have totally NO idea what could be wrong.

I just wanted to check that I have the same file as you, because as I have said, and you have probably not read, I have of course put the plugin file in the right folder, but nothing appears even in the option/plugin menu. Furthermore it is woking on x64.

If anybody else has an idea why on my PC it could not work?
I'm under 7 pro, with a laptop.

I have found a log: in the virtualdub log, it is said: can not load bla bla plugin .... it is not a valid win32 application.

so again I think I don't have the good plugin file, instead I have downloaded it 4 times.

Yes, I have found the issue. Thank you very much dloneranger.
In fact i'm using izarc and for a reason I don't know, when I requested extract of the plugin, it performs in fact two extractions: the 32, then the 64, replacing the 32. I have asked it to confirm extraction, then cancel the seond one.
Don't ask me why...

And now it works.

I have another question/issue but I will open a new topic.

Sorry to be so noob but if we even can not trust software like Izarc...
