Hello, phaeron & all who this are concerning.

When opening certain files, I got message that says:

QUOTE
[!] AVI: Stream 1 (audio) has a non-zero start position of 667 samples (+42 ms). VirtualDub does not currently support a non-zero start time and the stream will be interpreted as starting from zero.

This effectively means, that the audio will get out of sync, no matter whatever one do with the VirtualDub with the file... Since this is the second file I get like this, I starting to fear that there is a pattern with it and it could prevent VirtualDub usability for many.

Is there any chance for future development in this field in forseeable future? smile.gif

I assumed it was addressed here;it implies that it has no effect on sync.

Unfortunately, you assumed wrong. Or it is the combination of wmv input filter? I don't know, but the message is clear, when I tried to import the video.

It just not work in the 1.10.4 prerelease (build 35461). And it does have a huge effect on the sync... believe me.

So Audio menu | Interleaving | Audio skew correction doesn't help?

If VirtualDub is able to detect the non-zero start position of xx samples, why not automatically apply the skew correction ?
Maybe there is a particular reason to NOT do that ?

An open question for Phaeron ?

That works for the simplest cases, but breaks down pretty quickly if you have any sort of audio processing or editing involved.
