(eeror code -2)
can u plz help me fix it? i have also reinstall Avisynth and i intstalled the newst ffdshow as well. and i have no idea why nothing is working. i also want to add that it doesnt matter what i choose in the"using Avisynth template" option. vdm end up with errors and not oppenning my video files anymore. and i havnt changed a thing on my computer. |

Uninstall the new depreciated ffdshow. Install again the old ffdshow you previously installed that was working. |

Don't know in which circumstances or conditions you are using VirtualDubMod, but most of the time this kind of error message is preceeded by "Video compression error:". In that case, the error is due to choosing a "profile" in the encoding settings (of the compression codec being used) that is not compatible with the source file. For exemple: choosing the "qMobile" profile in DivX while using 480p or 720p video. From the moment you are willing to start saving the new AVI, you will get that error. |

(error code -2)" and when i click on the play button i get the message:"the decopression codec cannot be decompressto an rgb format.this is very unusual check that any"force YUY2" options are not enabled in the codec properties". i hope this gave u a bit more info. i dont know what els to add. |

If you have a System Restore Point preceding the problem, try using that. |

Not what you need to hear maybe, better install new virtualdub beta version. It can all that virtualdubmod could ever do and better. With doing so can use filters that will load decode all the files you like. Then able to output to many formats and containers as you need if you learn a little how to do so by reading virtualdub help and the forum. Forget ffdshow it also is old hat.
First though as suggested roll back, or restore from a backup to when the os was running ok with virtualdubmod for you. As maybe your pc isn't doing so well atm, os media filter or similar issue.
Actually for me I don't understand the need to use virtualdubmod not since virtualdub external encoders was added. Suggest this thread should be moved to virtualdubmod part of the forum, Avery doesn't fix or develop virtualdubmod only virtualdub. |
