Today I tried to process a video for my youtube channel and I noticed something was off. It ended up being aboug 2 times larger than any other processed video of that similar type and length.
So I went into virtual dub and made sure that I had the xvid compression selected. I did. I chalked it up to some wonky little event and tried again.
Nope, still doesn't work. So I turned on smart rendering and tried to preview the output, to make sure that it took this time.
Turns out, that turning on smart rendering and trying to preview the output gives me the error message: " Cannot initialize smart rendering: No video codec is selected for compression. "
Now I know i'm clicking on the codec, but for some reason it's just not... sticking.
Any ideas? |

This is a bug in VirtualDub 1.9.x -- you're getting this error because preview doesn't do compression. The bug is that it should be disabling smart rendering too. I think I fixed this in the 1.10.* tree. |
