Virtualdub Comes To Foreground For Job Switch, suboptimal job control behavior

When the job contol is running minimized in the backround and it comes time to switch to the next job, virtualdub comes to the forground for a second.

If you are typing something when this happens you can screwup the jobs list (happpened to me a few times) before you realize what's happening.

Is it necessary for vdub to come to the front for routine job switching?

Is there a switch / menu option somewhere to force job control into the background until the entire job list is done or there is an error that needs attention right away?
