Hello. New to this app and forum.
I just tried the newest versions of vdub and vdubmod on an avi file (xvidmpeg4, ogg media file ogg vorbis (mode 1) 128kbs) and found the following:
vdubmod parsing of ogg file completes with no errors when opening file, and a "preview of output" plays video and audio just fine.
But after "save as" avi I get video file with no audio at all (0 audio bits shown as processed during save dialog). Audio save fails even if I do no editing in vdubmod.
I tried all combinations of direct stream vs full edit mode for vid and audio. Tried no offset for interleave (a forum said a bug used to lose audio on save with offset). NO go.
Anybody know a solution to this? Thank you.
win98SE, k-lite codec pack (Also, plain vdub could not open/recognize file.)

Does the AVI file your working with already has the audio encoded in it. So when loaded into VDub... you can use Save WAV.
Then when you what to make your finally cut of this movie you can Load WAV and then then choose full processing and then recompress it.
You could also try to first choose DSC for Audio and Video then Save as AVI... Then open that new avi and try to play with it... Sometimes this helps... |

Uh... I experienced the same behavior 2 days ago, and I simply thought I had to use Ogm / Mkv as output format, for the Avi container didn't support Ogg audio. But since you claim you had a perfectly working Avi with Ogg audio... dunno! |

AFAIK, VDubMod can save OGG-audio only in OGM or MKV containers. So, I may suppose that yours AVI is actually renamed OGM. Once, I made such a trick for old players which know nothing about OGM-extension. The renaimed OGMs were quite suitable for playing back, seeking, etc.

Just save your video+audio as OGM and then, if it does look absolutely necessary, replace the file extention by AVI. Hopefully, it would work again...

Audio save fails even if I do no editing in vdubmod. | There is no parsing for AVI files. If the window that appeared is indeed the "Ogg parser" window, then as said previously you have actually an OGM file that someone renamed to AVI. That seems to be the case anyway since VirtualDub didn't recognize the file.
Then the behaviour of VirtualDubMod is normal. Your audio is Ogg Vorbis and we don't handle Vorbis in AVI, so that's why when you save to AVI the audio isn't processed. Just save to OGM or MKV to have your edited file.

I have the same problem. The source file is an ogg container and has a DIVX video stream and an ogg audio stream. The ogg parsing window reports no problem.
I set the audio stream as "Full processing mode" and select an avi compatible compression (Lame mp3). I set the video as "Direct stream copy". The resulting streams make a legal avi, but VDM produces an avi file without audio stream, although the processing settings have changed it from ogg to mp3.
If, in the "streams list" window, I choose "Save Wav", VDM produces a correct wav file, using the choosen compression, so VDM 'knows' how to handle this audio stream.
As a workaround, I can save the audio stream with the "Save wav" feature, and create a new audio stream with the saved wav and finally get the expected avi. But I do not understand why I have to use the intermediate step with wav file and why VDM does not directly recompress the audio.
Besides that VDM is great tool, thanks for it and congratulations !
