This problem started maybe 3 days ago, in VDubMod 1.5.4.1, and has continued into 1.5.10.1
I was working with some .avs's, and every time I loaded one up, VDubMod would crash. Turns out I had the wrong plugin directory specified. So, I changed that, and it loaded the .avs's, no problem. But now, it has crashed every time I've run it since then.
It triggers an invalid page fault in Kernel32.dll every time I use the program. The error message is
"VIRTUALDUBMOD caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 0167:bff9db61. Registers: EAX=c00309c4 CS=0167 EIP=bff9db61 EFLGS=00210212 EBX=00000000 SS=016f ESP=0087fe4c EBP=008800e8 ECX=00000000 DS=016f ESI=012f0f80 FS=449f EDX=005e48f8 ES=016f EDI=005b9fb8 GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: 53 8b 15 e4 9c fc bf 56 89 4d e4 57 89 4d dc 89 Stack dump:"
There have only been two times it has been able to run without a crash. The first time was when I loaded a .vob, and chose to Fast Recompress in an Uncompressed RGB. The other is happening right now. I loaded up a two pass encode in XVid, attempting to use batch mode. I hit F4 to go to Job Control, and clicked "Start". The program crashed, giving me two invalid page faults - one in module and one in XVid.dll. I started the program again, then closed it, and got the typical error message. Started it again, hit F4 again to see if the jobs were even saved on the crash, and they were. I clicked start, and now it's running a second pass encode on this .avs. I just aborted the job, since it was running the wrong stats file, and this is what greeted me:
"VIRTUALDUBMOD caused an invalid page fault in module at 0000:022c1f80. Registers: EAX=00aa5090 CS=0167 EIP=022c1f80 EFLGS=00210206 EBX=00000000 SS=016f ESP=0097f5d8 EBP=0097f8f0 ECX=023e0f60 DS=016f ESI=00aa32b0 FS=4497 EDX=00aa32b0 ES=016f EDI=00aa4300 GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP:"

I experience the same problems with VDub, but I'm able to exit that program without any difficulties.
Needless to say, this is starting to get on my nerves, and any help would be much, much appreciated.
System info:
Athlon XP 1600+ 512MB of Crucial PC2100 DDR RAM Primary HD: 40.9 GB Maxtor 7200 RPM drive Secondary HD: 80.0 GB Western Digital 7200 RPM, 8 MB Cache drive Primary Optical: LiteOn 16x/10x/40x CDRW Drive Secondary Optical: LiteOn 16x DVD-ROM Drive Windows 98 Second Edition
I've tried resolving it by deleting VDubMod, then reinstalling. Then I tried cleaning off my C:/ Drive and defragging. I've tried changing the directory that VDubMod is in.
I don't want to format or reinstall, but I'm willing to if need be. Just kinda looking for resolution, I guess.
Peace, Matt |

Oddly enough, it went away earlier this evening. I cleared almost everything off of my primary drive, and uninstalled my virus scanning software, and that seems to have done the trick. |
