Vdubmod version : 1.4.13.2v2 OS : w98se, dx9 CPU : AMD Tbird 1200@1200
As input I used an avi of roughly 2.5GB, encoded with the same vdubmod. video codec : Huffyuv audio codec track 1: uncompressed audio track 2 : n/a
Audio settings were at default and DirectStreamCopy was selected.
When loading this avi into vdubmod, and selecting AVI --> save WAV vdubmod starts to process until audiosample 5224896 (of 15767625) and then stops...ETA and elapsed time keep on increasing, but no more audio gets saved, all other counters remain the same.
On one (out of 3) occasion this lead, after pressing the [abort]-button (and doing nothing else), to the following error :
"Thread deadlock detected attempting to abort - killing process." and with vdubmod being shot into none-existance, the deadlock was gone as well.....but still quite nasty.
After about 30 seconds (variable per avi, disk reading speeds), the count resumes, and the process finishes normally. (taskinfo reports the .avi is opened twice, and both handles are read about simultaneously during the process, but at the stalling point, one of those stalls (the one probably from the 1st audiotrack), in this case with the filepos at about 830MB, while the other continues...for a while. When the other hits a filepos of about 1.116GB, it stops, and the other handle starts running again (and the audio-saving process resumes) until all is done. The handle (probably from the n/a 2nd audiotrack) stays put at about 1.116GB
When testing with other avi's (same codecs, roughly same size, same or close amount of audio samples), some stalled on other framecounts, some didnt stall at all.
For those who want more exact figures, screenshots can be made |

Hmm never encountered such a thing ... (but I don't use files that big ). Did you tested to see if VirtualDub (original) would do the same or is it really a problem in VDubMod ?

Vdub1.4.13 behaves the same. The issue seems to have been fixed in vdub1.5.0 (Where the 2nd open avi file handle stops reading after about 3.6MB and the 1st handle finishes without interruptions) |
