I love virtualdub but all of my movies are long 2 hour affairs that start from DV
source. I have to edit under an editing app such as Premiere or, my favorite, Video Vegas.

I wish there was a way to frameserve directly to Virtualdub from any app that can export to AVI. Wouldn't it be possible to make a VFW codec that would feed frames to Virtualdub on a silver platter? Then I could render my long-form movies straight to whatever with all my favorite VD filters and that wonderful deinterlace. I have built directshow in-place filters but I don't have the background to navigate the VFW morass. There must be a reason this is totally impossible otherwise it seems to me that someone would of done it before.

on www.videotools.net you can get some frame serving tools. IIRC they also have some tools concerning Premiere but I never tried them ( except AviSynth ).
