Greetings,

I was trying to demux a 5.1 channel AC3 stream from an AVI and ended up needing to download and use VirtualDubMod. While it was processing I thought that this would be a nice feature to have in VirtualDub.

Considering that VirtualDubMod is no longer developed, it seems to get angry with some of the newer formats / codecs that are available. Plus, it would be nice not to need several different programs just to extract a simple 6 channel audio track.

For additional info, the VirtualDubMod process is:

1. Open the video (and hope it doesn't get angry about the codec / whatever)
2. Click "Streams -> Stream List"
3. Right - Click the AC3 (or whatever)
4. Choose "Direct Stream Copy"
5. Click the "Demux" button (not "Save WAV")

Thanks for considering this.

In VirtualDub:
1) Audio => Direct Stream Copy
2) Audio => source audio => select the audio that you want
3) Video => Select range... => Uncheck "Cut off audio when video stream ends"
4) File => Export => Raw audio
