i understand that properly using multicore with same job is not trivial.
but if there are several jobs queued (several interdependent files) than utilizing multicore proc in such a way that each core processes a different task should be not that complicated. |

I don't have any problems running my multicore on a single job or with a job queue. VD job control does one job at a time sequentially, it does not load each job into a different core to process independantly.
What did you expect it to do??

It's usually the encoders multithreaded'ness that's a governing factor
Also, virtualdub can do this already With the /master and /slave options you can run virtualdub multiple times on 1 pc (or spread over a network of pc's) all working their way trough a job queue
