VirtualDubMod allows the storage of a custom default for the video transfer mode, which VirtualDub should offer as well (some users who mostly use it for conversions may prefer to use "Fast recompress" and currently have to select it each time, because "Full compression mode" is the default in VirtualDub).

Furthermore, it might be interesting to select a preferred default codec, if desired.
