I asked this before and maybe this time the developers are in the mood to entertain the idea.
How about being able to access filters and settings without clicking twenty times?
I know its not twenty times and I know some filters have preview but to be honest, with complex temporal filters, the preview just does not work.
Also, accessing different filters to make adjustments is a royal pain all together.
I am thinking like docked windows for filters? Then you can adjust each filter on the fly.
This is the place to dream right?
Examples include deshaker and adjusting settings for videos with low fidelity. Going back and forth just takes so much clicking thats its not funny.
Adjusting settings in general is not practical with the current configuration and something new would be greatly appreciated. |

This is something I've thought about, but it would take some pretty major changes to the filter API and then to the filters. This can't be done in just VirtualDub itself because the current filter API has the filters creating modal dialogs.

We can start somewhere with legacy support I guess.
There will be some pain to move forward.
There will be some resistance.
But if the end result is worth while, I believe its worth pushing it.
Maybe start with the internal filters at first or an experimental version to see how things work out.
Its easy for me to wish on this end without doing any of the leg work of coding it.
Maybe I can provide the motivation |
