After I encode the currently loaded video file I normally have a look at the result video.

If its fine I want to delete the source video file. But unfortunately the source file
is always still locked by (open) VirtualDub.
I have to exit/close VD in order to be able to delete the file.

Can VD automatically unlock/release file handle after encoding process (even VD window is still open)?

Thank you
Matt

On the file menu -> close video file

IIRC a quite old version of virtuladub didn't close all the handles when the video was closed, or a new one opened

Ok, thank you.

But I would appreciate to have an AUTOMATIC close after encoding end.

Is this somehow possible or can this option be added in the next release?

Thank you
Matt
