On Sunday, November 14th I will be trying to move the forum to a different server. The forum will be down for a couple of hours while I muck around with MySQL to copy over the database and make sure all of the forum settings transfer properly. Assuming everything goes smoothly, the new URL will be http://forums.virtualdub.org/. User accounts and all of the posts will be the same; the only thing that should be different is the location.

Special thanks to Everwicked for hosting this forum and continuing to do so for the ~six months that I procrastinated moving the forum. Thanks also to the moderators who have kept this forum flowing smoothly and to the users that kept it interesting. I hope you will continue to frequent the board.

i also must say that new design of http://www.virtualdub.org/
looks very nice.

Forum move is complete. I had to migrate some of the settings manually, most notably the board settings, so LMK if something seems different than the old site.

The forum is still called the Unofficial forum because I'm too lazy to change it and because it sounds more useful that way. Besides, it's almost completely community driven (i.e. by YOU), and so there isn't much official about it anyway other than where it's being hosted. Please continue to enjoy and support the forum.

I'll be monitoring this forum closely over the next few days for problems with bandwidth and database usage; there may be a few hiccups. Let me know by email if something serious is broken, like no one can post.

Wow, Avery, you didn't tell us about this so-called 'forum move' on the frontpage. Nice to see you have your own forum now.

Love your software btw cool.gif

I think the move has worked perfectly. No problems that I can see.

Funny though, as I looked around I had this nagging feeling that something was missing, and I had to look again at the old URL to figure out what it was. (It was the everwicked banner, hehe.) biggrin.gif

He said he likes them to be called "unofficial."

But make no mistake, we are really official now. cool.gif
