Wooot !!

Avery found the time to reply and to give a statement about the board ! As i could not ask him for allowance to copy and paste his complete reply here, please allow me to quote him on the important part only :

QUOTE
originally mailed by Avery Lee : I don't have enough bandwidth on my server -- I'm running
300-400MB/day just hosting the web pages, and my cap is 500MB/day
right now.  That's primarily why I didn't expect anyone else to set up
a forum -- it's a LOT of traffic.

> Please let me know what your thoughts are. If you decide such a board > is not wanted we will close it a once.

If you are willing to keep it going, I'd like to try it for a while.
Remind me to post a link if you don't see a notice about it in a week;
I might drop by the forum if I have time, but my hands are pretty full
with email and coding as it is.  Thanks for all the effort to set this
up, incidentally -- people have been asking for it for a while.

The latest version of VirtualDub is V1.4.10 (build 13870).

If i am not completely mistaken this means he likes the idea and will try to send people here, but can not host it on his server.

What a great motivation to fill this board with life !!

I really plan go to back to work on my Guides now i guess .....

Still 'Unofficial! status.

Avery said he will give it a go if we are ready to host it, because he cant do on his server due to bandwith limitations.

He just forgot to post the link to here or to setup his mail box with an auto-reply sending support questions to us it seems.

We still have more experts than newbies here on this board ... lol !!

if I where a newbie (and in some VD related questions I'm more than a newbie wink.gif ) and would have had a closer look in here, e.g. Newbie Questions than I would be very scared to post a question as a nOOb.

I mean, reading something like 'how to compile VD' posted there isn't really an easy way to start for nOOb.
