Just informing you that i had a dispute with Doom9 about launching this forums and the fact i was putting a thread into the General Section of his board linking to here.
I wont go down to the same level of infamism and stupidity compared to what i had to experience when talking to other moderators of his board before he showed up there, so please forgive me if i will not post in detail what happened and what was said. There were enough witnesses on the IRC channel that may be able to tell you.
Please be informed i am not a member of his board anymore, including my work as moderator there of course.
I dont know if you know and like my work for the community, but rest assured i will not slow down now, in fact me leaving Doom9 gives me more time to care about this forums here and of course corecodec.com and everwicked.com .
Looking forward to work with you to help bringing the community forward.

I think an act like this goes against everything this community stands for.I'm not in this for a long time but everything that i have learned so far and will learn in the future comes from efforts like this one,and i think it should be applauded and supported-and not rejected- by all of us.
So,all i have to say is [B]Thank you[B].
Thank you for the help you have and still offer us,and all i hope is that i can give some of it back to anyone that ever needs it.

and what do you mean by "cheap and dirty talk"?? - announcing that he was kicked off just because of some kind of misunderstanding - does this makes him cheap and dirty?? I can't see any reasons for kickin' a honourable (ex)memeber, just because of posting something (as everybody knows only a LINK (no advert! - no intention for leechin' members)... than I assume, you and every other Mod should take care for every signature - AFAIK, there're tons of signature linking to other hp's/boards...
kickin' him, is nothing else than saying - "thx" for your work and time you spend in my community but it's no more needed!! just f**k off an' die!! You can support that Koepi??... then

This board was created for Avery and his users, and is not the right place to start flame wars.
@koepi : i cant find any 'cheap and dirty' talking in my post. The users here do have the right to know that Doom9 removed the link from his board to here ( he may have his reasons, dont know ).
I agree i was maybe a bit emotional when posting this thread here, but please accept even i am just a normal human being with emotions .. and the way i was treated by the Doom9 mods, after all the contribution i think i have been given to this community, was very disappointing and demotivating for me.
It is ridiculous to assume this board here was created to help ew to leech users from Doom9. Everybody who was in contact with me before should have known better. To those mods at Doom9 who didnt know me good enough and were jumping on me with wrong assumptions, well be assured you wont get to know me .... i will keep away from you.
Again, i am a trained sales man and i know very well how to handle escalating situations ... but even for me there is the time when i have to let steam out, and this i why i was posting this thread here .... a bit too emotional maybe, i agree, but i wont edit it now because i will not lye to the uses here.
To finish this here :
I am not a liar ! When i was posting the link at Doom9 i was convinced Doom9 gave me allowance to do so. As i see it today there are 4 options about what had happened on this very evening when we had this ominous IRC conversation :
1. He was drunk after having finished his finals
2. I was drunk celebrating the birth of this forums here
3. We were both drunk
4. We misunderstood each other
I guess 3. or 4. are the most probable ...  ....
Anyway, what was said was said and i dont see any way back for me. Even if i could make my peace with Doom9 again, i definitely will not go back to a board where moderators are working that do react with such hatress and prejudices against other peoples plans and work. of course, this is not valid for all of them, but for sure for those who were jumping in my back.
I will close this thread tomorrow evening to avoid any form of escalation, so if anybody ha something to say, he should do it fast or shut up forever.
Lets get back to why we are here : serving the video encoding community !

I think it's weak from both Doom9 and the supporting moderators. Christian's intentions were good, so there is no discussion about right or wrong (I don't say this goes for every case, but at least it goes for this one).
Hope you guys can still resolve stuff, I'm off for vacation now.

I just heard the story from Christian's point of view, so I can't really judge.
But seeing this board as a "market share threat" makes me pessimistic for the future of the open/helpful community.
This board is an addition, something VDub oriented only and more specific. I don't see why it shouldn't be advertised on places that deal with VDub.
Anyway this is sad. |

I guess that's by far the most complex forum rule. Many times before there have been disagreements on posts, if they were just useful links or blatant adversiting and I guess it's impossible to always tell one from the other.
In the case Chris is talking about I removed his post after he asked me to delete his account on my board. In hindsight I regret having deleted the link. I was tired from having slept only 3 hours, been up and in meetings all day and I was both angry and hurt about what had happened between Chris and myself. Since there's no forum database backup I cannot restore the thread but I hereby invite Chris to get his account back and make the same post again and I'll make sure that it stays up that time.
As for the rest. Every moderator on my board has given me his word that he would uphold the moderator rules. One of these rules states that whatever discussion is made in the private parts of our forum stays there. As for my part I think it's natural that these rules apply to everybody having access, including myself. Therefore I refuse to wash dirty laundry in public. Whatever differences Chris and some members of the moderation team on my board have, this is stuff that should stay between us and not being discussed in public. In fact, I've already been talking to Chris for quite a while this afternoon but since he has people over coming to see his appartement he had to leave. I will definitely try to take up the issue with him again but this is really something betwen us. As with everything between two people there are always two sides to the story and it would be presumptous and premature to judge people if you're only willing to hear one person out. |

we all know koepi can react a bit impulsive sometimes.
I am sure his post was not ment to be mean or so. We had a short conversation on IRC this morning ( abut a different matter ) and he didnt say anything about this issue to me.
His posting was maybe just done because of his disappointment about the way things finally went.
It is maybe time we close this thread soon to avoid any more bad words from either side. I guess i will do so tomorrow.

i'm glad you're talking, and i REALLY REALLY hope you'll sort this issue out in the best possible way.
after hearing both sides mostly on [partially] public posts, and participating in this thread of this forum, i truely belive that the case here was of an unfortunate misunderstanding, and even more unfortunate escalation.
may u both be able to keep and contricute to the community as much as u did so far.
naive, optimistic and a believer in the good nature of humans
