Changelist:
| CODE | Build 28292 (1.7.6, stable): [October 13, 2007] [bugs fixed] * Cancelling the mode selection dialog for "create test video" didn't cancel the open. * IVTC now works when the video format is non-RGB. * Fixed garbled image when scrolling through an animated GIF in filter preview. * Fixed missing frames when opening animated GIFs with zero delay times in frames. * Fixed sync error when processing VBR audio in Direct mode. * PluginSDK: Not supplying a custom signature caused a sketchy match to be returned instead of full match. * PluginSDK: Fixed API host related crashes in filter preview and IVTC paths. * PluginSDK: Fixed support for VBR audio. * PluginSDK: Fixed handling of internal-decode frames. * PluginSDK: Fixed crash when no video stream is present. * Capture: Video filters were receiving frame times that were 1000x too large.
[regressions fixed] * AMD64: Fixed a pretty nasty stack misalignment issue in the 64-bit build. * Fixed compression issues with WMV9VCM. |

Because of the massive feedback from the users, my humble message will probably disappear between the posts in this thread, so I'll just say that > Phaeron, thanks for all your help and thanks for Virtualdub. Keep on codin'. <

Hello, many thanks for the new version. The ability use input plugins is really great. It is IMHO very important to support MP4 and MKV as input, because AVI container is silently moving out of the scene.
But I have some feature request which I would like to discuss. It is mainly the audio part. Why is it not possible to mux MP3 or AC3 to AVI in VirtualDub? Would it be possible to import the "Stream List" dialog from VirtualDubMod? Or are there any reasons why you don't want to do it?
Also support for MP3 VBR would be very nice. What are the reasons you don't want to implement it? I read somewhere, that MP3 VBR has to be muxed in a special way, but it should be valid according to AVI specs.
Unfortunately I have to switch between your original VD and VDM all the time, because both versions have some unique features.
Thank you. |

For MP4 You can use QuickTime API plugin. Unfortunately not available for MKV at this moment.
Look at - VirtualDub File Input Filter

Latest test version VirtualDub 1.7.X can mux external MP3 file. Unfortunately not AC3.

Latest test version VirtualDub 1.7.X support MP3 VBR.
Look at - Test Thread: Virtualdub 1.7.x

I have a bunch of MP4 files that I downloaded and I can only get one of them to open with the QT plugin and it's an Adobe Flash H264 file. All of the MP4 files play in Nero Showtime.
Both GSpot and VDub read them all as H264 AVC1 and VDub will play the audio but not the video.
I have used ffdshow to convert them all to AVI but it would be a lot easier to be able to use an H264/AVC/MP4 input plugin. Hopefully someone will be able to take the new version of ffdshow with AVCHD support and create a plugin.
The QT plugin opens all my .mov files though. |
